The best of the West Coast

Tasman Glaicer Heli hike

There's a reason the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island is known as the 'wild West'. With unspoiled, untamed wilderness it's unlike anywhere else in the country; offering a unique way to experience rivers, rainforests, glaciers and geological treasures all in one place.

The most well-known destinations are Fox Glacier, Franz Josef Glacier and Lake Matheson, destinations our experienced guides can show you on a custom private tour. You also have the peak of Mt. Aspiring to the south, Punakaiki's iconic Pancake Rocks to the north and miles of uninterrupted coastline.

Lake Matheson
An easy 40-minute walk takes you to Lake Matheson, near Fox Glacier. It's known as New Zealand’s most photographed lake and it's no wonder why, as on a still day you can capture the snowy reflection of Mt Cook and surrounding peaks on its dark waters.

Fox Glacier
We think the best way to explore Fox Glacier is by heli-hike. We can fly you in, land on the ice and guide you on a spectacular exploration of ice caves and arches.

Franz Josef Glacier
Experience one of the most spectacular glacier environments available to the general public, perhaps anywhere in the world, at Franz Josef Glacier. We can arrange glacier hiking tours, including heli hikes, to suit all levels of fitness and ability. Contact us to find out more.
