Enquire NowExperience a unique heli hike adventure on a spectacular high-country station
Leave the tourist trail behind and soar high above Lake Dunstan for breathtaking views across the Southern Alps and towards Mount Cook before embarking on an exclusive hiking experience on family-owned Lowburn Station.
Your adventure begins as we transport you to your privately chartered helicopter. We fly high above world-class vineyards and the rugged Karawaru Gorge where you will see historic goldmining remnants before landing at the station.
Located on the Pisa Range, Lowburn Station is a picturesque 5,000ha working farm with sheep, cattle and alpacas that has sweeping views across Lake Dunstan, Cromwell and Bannockburn wine regions. Delve into the history and significance of the family station and experience first-hand the inner workings of a high-country farm.
We begin our hiking adventure by traversing the highest ridgeline on the station, wandering through fields of alpine tussocks. Learn about Maori and goldmining history and how the Cromwell Basin is evolving into a world-renowned wine region.
Enjoy spectacular alpine vistas, breathe in fresh mountain air and immerse yourself in nature while listening for the distinct song of our native birds.
Our private helicopter meets us here and we enjoy a scenic descent across alpine high-country before returning to Queenstown.
