Savour Central Otago wines deep in the Gibbston Valley
Alpine Luxury Tours has partnered exclusively with Mt Rosa Wines to offer you the opportunity to sample some of Central Otago's finest wines; perched atop an outstanding high country station in one of the most remote and scenic winemaking regions on earth.
Starting with a short transfer to your privately chartered helicopter, your day really begins as you ascend over the stunning Gibbston valley to Mt Rosa wines. Upon touching down, you will be met by owner Guy Boanas. He will be your personal guide throughout the wine tasting. Returning to the skies, you will soar above the rugged Kawarau Gorge and experience panoramic views that extend from Aoraki Mount Cook to the Nevis Mountain Range as you make your way towards Lowburn Station.
Located on the breathtaking Pisa Range, the station is a picturesque 5,000ha family-run farm with sheep, cattle and alpacas. Boasting sweeping views across Lake Dunstan, Cromwell and Bannockburn wine regions, you will land atop the station where Guy will take you on a wine tasting journey that includes five Mt Rosa Wines. Be sure to savour Central Otago’s distinctive Pinot Noir as you indulge in local cheeses hand-selected to complement each wine, while taking in the spectacular view across alpine meadows and rugged snow-capped peaks.
During the tasting, you will discover how this challenging high-altitude environment has led to consistently superb wines, worldwide recognition and multiple international awards. At the conclusion of the tour, you will board your private helicopter once more and enjoy a scenic descent towards Queenstown.
