Be transported to another world on this full day hike to Rob Roy Glacier in Mount Aspiring National Park, accompanied by your highly-trained personal guide.
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive over the spectacular Crown Range through Cardrona Valley, Lake Wanaka, Matukituki Valley and into Mount Aspiring National Park. Sit back and enjoy constantly evolving landscapes through rugged gorges and vast alpine plains from comfort of your own Land Rover Discovery or Mercedes van.
Never miss a photo opportunity with the flexibility to stop, jump out of the car and breathe in crisp mountain air wherever and whenever you like.
Begin your hiking adventure at Raspberry Flats, crossing a swing bridge over the West Matukituki River before a steady climb up through a small gorge alongside Rob Roy stream. You will wander through ancient beech forests and catch glimpses of Rob Roy Glacier as the dense forest clears.
Enjoy cascading waterfalls and the thriving under storey of ferns and mosses as the forest gives way to alpine vegetation and spectacular views of the hanging glaciers beneath Rob Roy. Take a break here to soak in the grandeur and tranquillity of this pristine environment before turning back towards Wanaka.
On the way home, visit the quaint lakeside township of Wanaka and stroll along the waterfront to the famous ‘Wanaka tree’ before returning to Queenstown.
