Lose yourself in the natural beauty and awe-inspiring scenery of one of New Zealand’s most iconic regions. Your local personal guide will take you on a full-day exploration across the famous Crown Range, to picturesque Lake Wanaka and the Cardrona Valley.
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive over the spectacular Crown Range towards Cardrona. Sit back and enjoy constantly evolving landscapes through rugged gorges and vast alpine plains from the comfort of your own private Mercedes vehicle. Never miss a photo opportunity with the flexibility to stop, jump out of the car and breathe in crisp mountain air wherever and whenever you like.
We stop to take in iconic panoramic views across the valley to The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. Before visiting New Zealand’s most photographed building, the history-laden Cardrona Hotel the second oldest operating hotel. The journey continues to the gorgeous lakeside town of Wanaka.
By now you’ll likely be ready to take a moment to soak everything in, so your guide will recommend lunch options based on your preference. Following lunch, we visit the famous ‘Wanaka Tree’ and walk along the picturesque lakefront.
You may choose to indulge in a wine tasting at Rippon vineyard or perhaps visit the Wanaka Lavender Farm. Or even try your luck at Hook, this is a brand new lake to plate salmon fishing and restaurant experience located in Wanaka, right at the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Lakes. A hook is a place where everyone is welcomed to enjoy Wanaka’s stunning alpine setting in comfort and with ease. Escape into the great outdoors. Catch a Chinook salmon from our spring-fed fishing lakes. Then relax or explore while our team prepare it for you! This is the Hook experience — “from lake to plate”.
We will then travel to Cromwell the heart of the New Zealand fruit region in Central Otago. Visit the Old Cromwell town village and journey back through the wine region of the Gibbston valley back to Queenstown.
