Our mission is to drive sustainability through the Local New Zealand tourism by ensuring that sustainability is core to our procurement process and gains.

The core of Alpine Luxury Tours business is to provide high-quality experiences to international visitors coming to New Zealand. We do so by having well-designed experiences and luxury itineraries, using only the best suppliers, transport providers, venues and personnel. Given the global nature of our business, we aim to conduct ourselves in a way that supports a long-term sustainability policy in order to minimise negative effects and maximise positive impacts on the natural & social environment. Alpine Luxury Tours supports its business partners towards greater sustainability, and in doing so, we aim to foster sustainability practices amongst our international visitors.

We are a leading Private Luxury Guiding Company based in Queenstown, Our success is reliant on collaboration with our suppliers and innovation in developing Luxury experiences . Working with numerous stakeholders within the tourism industry; ranging from consumers, activity/attraction/accommodation and transport providers. We bring together New Zealand travel and tourism supplier companies that are committed to constant improvement in their operational practices to ensure long term sustainability.

We believe having a common approach to sustainability benefits everyone in the supply chain and thence ultimately the traveller.

We understand supply chains are global, therefore we act as a strong promoter of standardisation and harmonisation of supply chain approaches to achieve long term impact, while also maintaining independent supply chain management.

Our collaborative approach with suppliers is founded on compliance with New Zealand employment, and health/safety law and the highest ethical standards.

* Develop and implement initiatives that can drive improvement

ADOPT A PLOT (THE WHAKATIPU WILDING CONIFER CONTROL GROUP)

Alpine Luxury Tours have Adopted a Plot at the top of the Ben Lomond saddle above Queenstown to help with the fight on Wilding pines in the Queenstown region. We spend 1 day per month during (non-winter months) to go and cut out our plot of small seedling and coning trees in the past we have pulled and cut out over 400 seedlings in a day . 

The Ben Lomond adoption program is a community based response to a critical ecological issue that is threatening the Ben Lomond (One Mile) Basin.

The Whakatipu Wilding Conifer Control Group Inc (WCG) is a community, not-for-profit organisation created in April 2009. We are focused on protecting biodiversity and the remarkable landscape of the Whakatipu for the benefit of residents, users, tourists and particularly, future generations. The WCG aim is to control wilding trees. Queenstown is renowned worldwide for its stunning and iconic landscapes, but they are under threat from wilding trees. Wilding conifers threaten and replace native beech forests and tussock.

The WCG run a volunteer program called ‘Adopt a Plot’, this represents a new approach to the problem.

Rather than a few volunteers looking after a large area, the program seeks to engage with many people who can provide intensive control of smaller areas.

Under this program, businesses, community groups, schools, and family groups adopt a specific area of the basin. Each group will be responsible for hand clearing their plot of seedlings and then maintaining the area to prevent regrowth.

KEA CONSERVATION TRUST

Alpine Luxury Tours are proud to be a Greenstone Kea Sponsor and support the Kea Conservation Trust which aims to assist in conservation of wild Kea in their natural habitat through;

• establishing positive working relationships with associated conservation groups/individuals;
• raising of funds to allow research on Kea issues;
• provision of an easily accessible information resource on Kea.

Named by Māori for the sound of its call, the kea (Nestor notabilis) is endemic to the Southern Alps of New Zealand and is the world’s only mountain parrot. These sociable and highly intelligent birds are well adapted to their harsh environment. Unfortunately, the traits that kea developed for survival, their curiosity and omnivorous appetite, have created conflict with humans over the last 150 years. Persecution and predation have sorely depleted numbers and, with only a few thousand birds remaining, the kea is a Nationally Endangered species.

Raised funds are pooled together, so not matter how big or small a donation is, it all goes back to caring for our whenua (our place and natural resources). By collating donations from visitors and businesses in the Queenstown region, we have the capacity to drive impact, at scale. Funds raised go back to projects in Glenorchy, Queenstown, Kingston, Arrowtown and Gibbston.
