Firstly your morning will begin with a pickup at your Queenstown accommodation, and take you to the airport to board the helicopter. Experience an unforgettable flight to Milford Sound. Rudyard Kipling called this place the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ and its World Heritage status confirms its unique beauty. Your scenic helicopter flight will take you over rainforest-covered valleys, spectacular alpine lakes and past several mountain ranges. Enjoy this world-renowned area with unique views from above.
Descending to land at the bottom of a steep valley, from here it’s a 10-minute walk to the harbour where your Milford Sound boat will be waiting. We partner with the best small boat operator to give you a more intimate experience. Your 1 hour and 40-minute cruise will take you up close to the dramatic waterfalls that pour down sheer granite cliffs and throughout the fiord in search of seals, dolphins and other native wildlife.
As part of your experience you will also enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch which is included in your tour.
Following the cruise, you’ll return to your helicopter and continue your aerial tour of Fiordland National Park – stunning even by our standards. Land high up on one of the spectacular peaks in view of Fiordland National Park, and have the opportunity to take some photos in the snow.
Your last heli stop before returning home is the Middle Earth waterfalls, a memorable location that we have exclusive access to . You may recognise it from the movie The Hobbit. Descend past the blue ice of the hanging glacier and the waterfalls cascading down the huge rock faces to land gently on the valley floor for an impressive photo opportunity. The final leg of your adventure will take you over the Richardson Mountain range. You’ll learn about its rich mining history before returning to Queenstown.
