This full day Milford Sound private tour experience ventures deep into the place Rudyard Kipling called, “the Eighth Wonder of the World”. Explore the magnificent sheer cliffs and shimmering waters of this world-renowned location. Enjoy a luxury cruise and 2 course chef prepared lunch on-board the Fiordland Jewel catamaran.
Your local driver/guide will pick you up from your Queenstown accommodation and whisk you away in the comfort of your own private vehicle. Enjoy constantly evolving landscapes, from windswept alpine plains and turquoise lakes to vast mountain peaks and lovely lakeside towns. Skip the crowds and never miss a photo opportunity. On our tour you have the flexibility to stop, step out of the car and breathe in the crisp
mountain air.
Highlights along the way include the crystal-clear Lake Te Anau, wildflower-filled plains of the Eglinton Valley, picturesque Lake Marian and Mirror Lakes. Other highlights include the engineering feat that is the 1270m long Homer Tunnel and the thundering waterfalls at Chasm Creek.
Then we take to the water for a scenic 2 hr boat cruise, you will have a reserved seat with views and be served a delicious 2-course plated lunch at your table, all dishes are carefully crafted by our onboard chef featuring fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce, catering to dietary requirements. While cruising Milford Sound on board a boutique catamaran, the Fiordland Jewel, was specifically designed to offer the ultimate in comfort and an incredible adventure in Piopiotahi Milford Sound. Marvel at towering cliffs and peaks – including the iconic Mitre Peak that rises more than a kilometre straight out of the sea.
Get up close to cascading waterfalls and vibrant rainforest. Keep an eye out for New Zealand wildlife including fur seals, dolphins or yellow crested penguins.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Milford Sound experience, you can fly back to Queenstown by helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft and take in the grandeur of this special landscape from above.
