Do you love a long lunch? Or are you looking for a quick, easy option to enjoy a delicious snack?
Then our guide to Central Otago’s Top Lunch Spots has you covered!

Queenstown is well known for its world class restaurants offering great evening dining and entertainment. What is less well known are the incredible Central Otago vineyards and secluded lunch eateries that are dotted around this stunning region. We have shared some of our favourite lunch spots, all of which are available on one of our Queenstown Private Tours.

Our Favourite Queenstown Private Tour Lunch Spots

  1. Starting off at Mora Artisan Kitchen and Wines. Originally called Akarua, this bespoke little cottage and stunning garden boasts fantastic cuisine and wine. The Executive Chef John excels with his team to produce high quality sharing plates. Especially from the Royalburn Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder right through to the fresh Scallop Ceviche. This is honest food paired with their beautiful wine, and especially if you get the chance do dip into a wine tasting with Vicki then you’ve done yourself a favor!
  2. Secondly on our list is Mt Rosa, this raw, rural and romantic space is playful and wonderful in every way. Enjoy the barn amongst the vines, sharing platters include Salmon, local cheeses and house made pickles. Gorgeous wines pair with the rural setting, this one sits high on our list for a casual, delightful lunch!
  3. We also love Carrick Winery in Bannockburn for its fantastic location, along the cycle trail, overlooking Lake Dunstan and close to the Felton Road wineries’ for instance. Next to the vineyard and the wine makers, this restaurant sits above the barrel room, be careful as you look down through the glass floor! Carrick food is delectable, simple meals done beautifully, perfect for sharing a few plates amongst friends or a cheeseboard.
  4. Close by Mt Difficulty excels in its location with a beautiful view over the Bannockburn, Felton Road and Cromwell region. A relaxed atmosphere provides a space where you can sit back and enjoy the delicious food and wine. A beautiful menu full of sharing plates, cheeseboards, (and don’t forget the desserts)!
  5. Finally, Odelay Cafe in Frankton. Quick and easy place to grab a picnic lunch, sit down cafe style menu or a delish coffee. Our guests enjoy the pack lunches from Odelay, out and about on our exclusive hikes!
