Dunedin – A Stunning drive along state Highway 8 in your luxury Mercedes vehicle, about 3.5 hours from Queenstown to Dunedin. -Visit some of the highlights of Dunedin history, Larnach Castle, Otago Settlers Museum and explore the street art and the public art gallery. -Relax at the Fable in the heart of the city. Dine at one of the local restaurants or breweries and settle in for the night. -Optional magical night experience, Stargazing on the Otago Peninsula. -Next day, indulge in the wildlife, Yellow-eyed penguins, and sea lions and witness the Northen Royal Albatross at the world’s only mainland breeding colony. Option to get up close and personal on the water with a harbour cruise and see these mammals in their natural habitat. -After a thrilling morning, stop for lunch at one of the eclectic cafes before departing off towards Queenstown, with a few stops along the way.
Te Anau/Milford Sound -This experience is an expansion of our Milford Sound Private Day tour, with added extras to show you the best of what Te Anau has to offer. -Start your experience from Queenstown with your private driver, about a 2.2hr scenic drive. Once you arrive at Te Anau, a picturesque lakeside town, you are straight on a Jetboat tour of the Waiau River. Commonly known for its rich Lord of the Rings history. Enjoy this 2-hour tour of Fiordland National Park, hold on for some thrills and stretch those legs on a short walk through native bush. -Upon returning from the jetboat excursion settle your hunger by the lakefront for a quick lunch before heading off on your afternoon activity. Choose from E-biking the Lake2Lake Trail, visiting the glowworms, a fishing tour or a scenic flight either via helicopter or Seaplane. -Check into your accommodation, options to stay in town at Radford’s on the lake or out at Fiordland Lodge, both boasting incredible lake views and wonderful service. -Night activities to choose from, an evening Historic cruise on board the faith, or the Ata Whenua film which brings you up close and personal to the awe-inspiring landscapes of Fiordland from the comfort of your armchair (wine in hand- After an eventful first day, begin your second day by heading west towards the renowned Milford Sound. Travelling in your luxury Mercedes vehicle along the Milford Road, enjoying ever-changing landscapes from alpine plains to vast mountains. Highlights along the way include, wildflower filling Eglinton Valley, Mirror lakes and the Homer Tunnel. With this two-day option, you can explore all the stops along the road and stretch your legs with short walks along the way. -Once arriving at Milford Sound, hop on board the boat cruise, a 1hr45 scenic cruise marvelling at the towering cliff, the iconic Mitre Peak, keeping an eye out for NZ wildlife like fur seals, dolphins or yellow-crested penguins. -Upon returning from the cruise, your driver will transport you back to Queenstown with stops for lunch and an optional farm tour on the route home.
Aoraki/Mt Cook -Begin your Mt Cook adventure from Queenstown through the rugged Kawarau gorge, sit back and enjoy the everchanging landscapes through the Lindis Pass towards Mt Cook National Park. -Stop along the way and stretch your legs at the Omarama Clay cliffs or relax in the woodfire hot tubs if that is more your style. -Prime photo location at Lake Pukaki a glacial lake famed for its milky turquoise colour. -Arrive at the Hermitage for lunch, situated at the base of the Hooker Valley. -Enjoy a 3hr walk along the hooker valley track with shimmering views of Aoraki Mt Cook, at 3,724 metres (12,218 feet) it towers over the valley and is a must-do walk to the terminal lake. -Stay at the incredible Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat, with luxury accommodation and local produce at the forefront. -Optional night activity, stargazing onsite, at Mt Cook Retreat’s own Observatory, enjoying a whiskey or your choice of drink whilst making the most of the Aoraki Mackenzie Internation Dark sky reserve. -After your night in the dark sky reserve, your driver will take you up to the Tasman Glacier’s terminal lake to visit the untouched views of the southern Alps. Options here are to jump onboard a fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter and stand atop the Tasman glacier. Take this experience one step further and sign up for a guided glacier hike. -Upon returning from the glacier your private driver will transport your home, via the Mt Cook Salmon farm, where you can fish for your own salmon or just enjoy eating fresh. Your journey home will include many rest stops.
Westcoast/Wanaka -Start your wild Westcoast and Wanaka journey across the famous crown range, the highest main road in NZ at 1121 metres (3678ft). Stopping in at the Cardrona Pub and/or Cardrona Distillery and learn the history of the road and who used to reside up there. -Heading through Wanaka and up the Haast Pass, rest stops include waterfalls and short walks. Onwards to the Wild Westcoast, visiting old shipwrecks and awe-inspiring coastal views. The West Coast is renowned for its untouched landscapes, and this is prominent when you visit. -Upon arriving at your accommodation for the evening, there is plenty to see and do around this riverside location. Walking, kayaking, and visiting the Fiordland crested penguin in their natural habitat. – Choose to share an evening with fellow travellers or dine alone, soaking up the seasonal produce, the finest wine, and the beautiful atmosphere. -The next morning your driver will pick you up from the accommodation and transport you back down towards Wanaka, stopping at the Blue Pools for a stroll. Options here to add a jetboat excursion up the Makarora River or the Siberia experience by fixed-wing aircraft and jetboat. -Continuing on the views of Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea are stunning, stopping in Wanaka to visit ‘That Wanaka Tree’ and the Lavender Farm. Wanaka boasts numerous adventure activities, from Wild Wire (a cable-climb up steep mountain cliffs and waterfalls), Lake cruises around Ruby Island, hiking and Wine tasting. With plenty of options, it’s easy to spend time enjoying Wanaka. -After Wanaka, you can choose to head back over the Crown Range, alternatively, we can head around the mountain through the Wine region along Lake Dunstan and through the rugged Kawarau gorge before returning to Queenstown.
