With sweeping views as your backdrop, Chris shares the story of his family’s land, grown from modest beginnings into a thriving, large-scale sheep, beef and high-producing dairy operation.
This is an immersive, unscripted experience designed to connect you with real Kiwi farmlife. Step inside a working milking shed and gain insight into modern dairy practices, watch skilled sheep shearing and working dog demonstrations, and explore the farm’s unique coal mining operation and its role in land restoration. For those wanting to get hands-on, there’s the opportunity to try your hand at farm life, whether that’s driving a tractor or farm bike, collecting free-range eggs, or feeding sheep, alpacas, deer and other animals straight from your hand. During your visit, you’ll also have the chance to plant a native tree, leaving a lasting contribution to the farm’s future.
Back at the homestead, settle in for a generous farmhouse lunch prepared by Chris and his team, showcasing locally sourced meats and Fiordland seafood. Afterwards, relax on the patio with a refreshment, soaking in the peaceful surrounds before beginning your return journey to Queenstown. An engaging and memorable day, rich in character, humour and genuine southern hospitality, offering a rare insight into life on a modern New Zealand farm.
